HLTCPR201A
Perform CPR The
participants will enjoy being part of the course learning a skill which may save
a life. The presentation of the training package HLTCPR201A
Perform CPR will utilise the use of computer and data projector to provide a
Power Point presentation and a DVD presentation which covers such issues as
basic anatomy and physiology relating to performing CPR, infection control, and
a demonstration on how CPR is performed. The
participant will be assessed on their ability to Identify the signs of a
collapsed casualty and the Absence of signs of life including Unconscious,
Unresponsive, Not moving, Not breathing normally. Their knowledge of when to
call for help 000 or 112 and how well they perform CPR individually on an adult,
child and infant will be assessed and they will have to demonstrate better than
70% knowledge and skill base of how to perform CRP to be deemed competent . AED
optional We
can offer optional AED training if required by the student / organization. The
student will be trained in the first place by the above procedure and when the
participant demonstrates their competency in the performance of CPR the student
will be introduced to the function of an AED. They will learn about their unit
how to turn the AED on, Pad placement, casualty clearance, delivering a
shock, special considerations and maintenance of their AED.
The
training will be constructed with the use of power point presentation and DVD
presentation. The practical AED training will include Manikin training involving
CPR and Pad Placement/ Mankin training involving CPR, Pad Placement and shock
delivery and CPR. The participant will be assessed on their ability to identify the signs of a collapsed casualty as above. Their knowledge any special conditions and when to call for help 000 or 112 and how well they perform CPR individually on an adult or child. The collection of the AED the time taken to apply pads, clear the casualty and deliver the first shock They maybe asked oral questions or asked to do a written exam regarding the use of the AED. use this kit when attending the first aid scenarios. The
participant will be assessed on their ability to Identify and respond to an
emergency in line with the practiced actions and the Australian Resuscitation
Council Guidelines. Included the ability to demonstrate first aid casualty
management, assessment of casualty vital signs, safe manual handling, casualty
welfare and reassurance. Their knowledge of when to call for help 000 or 112 and
how well they perform CPR individually on an adult, child and infant. They maybe
asked oral questions or given written questions regarding the first aid
treatments and CPR. They will be deemed competent if they can demonstrate a
minimum of 70% knowledge base in first aid and CPR. AED

participants of FIRST AID PLUS AUSTRALIA training receive effective and
comprehensive CPR and first aid training we
have employed the following Training strategies. The

HLTFA302A Provide first aid in
remote situation
Course notes
The
participants will be learning a skill which may save a life in a remote
situation. The presentation of the training package HLTFA302A will utilise the
use of Data Projector and Screen to provide a Power Point presentation including
a DVD presentation which covers such issues as how to prepare to respond to
emergency in a remote situation, prepare for isolates travel or work, assess
casualty conditions, provide first aid, work with medical and emergency services
aid, evaluate the incident and be able to make contingency plans. The
participants will have a working knowledge of communication systems, equipment
and methods in remote areas, understand OHS issues and principles, Infection
control, safe evacuation procedures, evaluating management options relating to
transporting casualty and or waiting for assistance, principles of preparing for
providing first aid in remote from ready assistance, including identifying and
preparing supplies to address contingencies specific to different types of
situation. For
practical training each student will have access to a first aid kit which
conforms to WorkCover B first aid Kit which includes a face mask (barrier
devise).
They will be required to use this kit when attending the first aid
scenario and assessment. The participant will be assessed on their ability to Identify and respond to an emergency in line with the practiced actions and the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines. Included the ability to demonstrate of actual or simulated remote situation relevant to work or community context they will demonstrate in the simulation casualty management, assessment of casualty vital signs, safe manual handling, casualty welfare and reassurance. HLTFA402B Apply advanced first Aid
Course Notes The
participants will enjoy this course as it brings together the learning skills
which may save a life and builds on UOC HLTFA301B Apply first aid to include
additional skills and uses a range of equipment. The presentation of the
training package HLTFA402B Apply advanced first aid will utilise the use of Data
Projector and Screen to provide a Power Point presentation including a DVD
presentation which covers such issues as basic anatomy and physiology relating
to providing first aid and performing CPR, Infection control, use of oxygen
equipment, use of an AED, spinal immobilisation, safe manual handling use of
analgesic and a demonstration on how first aid procedures are conducted and CPR
is performed including the use of oxygen and an AED. The
participants will be able to coordinate first aid activities until medical
assistance arrive, communicate essential details to relevant personnel, maintain
confidently, evaluate the incident and report on the incident and will be aware
of the importance of de briefing. The
participants will also be trained by utilising the see then do instruction
where they will be show or have a demonstration of a first aid / rescue
procedure and then they will be involved in a scenario which will require the
participants to use the knowledge gained. This
course is hands on requiring the participants to be involved in a number
of different scenarios encourages their learning. For practical training each student will have access to a wide variety of first aid equipment and supplies including oxygen equipment, AED, thermometers, auto injectors, back boards, stretchers, first aid kit, analgesic inhalers, spacer device and cervical collars all participants will be issued with a face mask (barrier devise). first aid in the workplace
Course Notes The
presentation of the training package HLTFA403A Manage first aid in the workplace
will utilise the use of Data Projector and Screen to provide a Power Point
presentation including a DVD presentation which covers such issues as
establishing a work place first aid facility, plan a first aid facility and
address workplace and legislative requirements, how to identify workplace
hazards and associated risks , prepare first aid equipment in line with
workplace requirements, Identify personnel,
use risk minimisation in the workplace, They will also learn how to
manage a workplace first aid facility, resources required, equipment and stock
care , work place risk management and validation process, use safe manual
handling techniques, Manage workplace first aid records and evaluate the
provision of first aid in the workplace. The
participants will have a working knowledge of legal responsibilities and duty of
care, Australia Resuscitation
Council Guidelines, procedures for dealing with accidents in the workplace, find
and read MSDS, read and find company standard operating procedure(SOP),
priorities of management of first aid, OH&S requirements in the provision of
first aid, risk assessment, safe storage and handling of medication in the
workplace, infection control principles, state territory regulation relating to
first aid they will be able to coordinate and manage first aid activities as

The scenarios may be conducted individually but emphasis is put on team participation and team work as most of the skills including the use of stretches, oxygen equipment , AED, Cervical collar application require teamwork to fulfil the required tasks. Participants will demonstrate their knowledge through the use of scenarios and questioning at the conclusion of scenarios. The participant will be assessed on their ability to Identify and respond to an emergency in line with the practiced actions and the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines. Included the ability to demonstrate first aid casualty management, assessment of casualty vital signs, safe manual handling, casualty welfare and reassurance. Their knowledge of when to call for help 000 or 112 and how well they perform CPR individually and in a team on an adult, child and infant. They maybe asked oral questions or given written questions regarding first aid procedures, CPR, stretcher use, AED use , patient monitoring. Participants

Apply advanced resuscitation techniques
Course Notes
The
participants will be learning a skill which may save a life. The presentation of
the training package HLTFA404AB will utilise the use of Data Projector and
Screen to provide a Power Point presentation including a DVD presentation which
will covers such issues as basic anatomy and physiology relating to Oxygen
equipment, the application of an AED and performing CPR, Infection control, and
a demonstration on how CPR is performed using oxygen equipment / how CPR is
performed using the AED and how CPR is performed using Oxygen and the AED. Other
equipment which the participants will become familiar with includes Oxygen
therapy equipment, Bag valve mask resuscitation device, Automated
External Defibrillator (AED),
Resuscitation mask, First Aid Kit, suction device, Gloves, Razors,
shears, and cleaning wipes The
participants will be trained by utilising the see then do instruction
where they will be show or have a demonstration of the Oxygen equipment and or
AED and then they will have time to practice the knowledge gained.
The participants will be in groups of 4 - 6 per manikin/ Oxygen
equipment/ Defibrillator as defined in the Australian
Resuscitation Council guidelines They will then be involved in number of
scenarios which will require the participants to use the knowledge gained. For
practical training each student will have access to a defibrillator and a
manikin which conforms to Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and a face
mask (barrier devise).
They will be required to use this face mask when attending the scenarios. The participant will be assessed on their ability to Identify and respond to an emergency in line with the practiced actions and the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines. Included the ability to demonstrate first aid casualty management, assessment of casualty vital signs, safe manual handling, casualty welfare and reassurance. They will be assessed on their knowledge of when to call for help 000 or 112 and how well they perform CPR, the use of oxygen, the application of defibrillation both individually and in a team on an adult and child.
